Geoff Jenkins goes 2-for-4 with a homer for the Brewers in his big-league debut. The first-round pick spends 11 years in the big and hits 221 dingers for the Phillies and Brewers.
He also becomes the first Milwaukee Brewers player to hit a home run in his major league debut. Jenkins joins Chuck Tanner, who accomplished the feat in 1955 as a member of the Milwaukee Braves, as the only players in Milwaukee baseball history to homer in their first game.

A day after going 5-for-5, Tony Gwynn collects hits in his first two at-bats. He also got a hit in his final AB two games ago, tying a Padres record with eight consecutive hits.
The string is broken when he grounds into a double play in the 6th inning. He goes 3-for-4 in the game to bring his batting average to .448.

This was a wild one. Minnesota scored in all but one inning and collected 19 hits while the Tigers had 11 runs on 14 hits.
