He hits .224 in 62 games for Seattle and moves on to Boston in 1991.

The Phillies sign Dickie Noles as a free agent.
He spends most of the year in Triple-A, but does return to the bigs for one game. It is his final season in baseball.

Les Lancaster 1992 Tigers Baseball Card

The Tigers sign Les Lancaster as a free agent.
He goes 3-4 in 41 games and spends his final big league season with the Cardinals in 1993.

Joey Cora 1995 Pacific Baseball Card

He hits .297 in 120 games and helps Seattle reach the ALCS.

1990s Baseball Debuts

Trevor Hoffman throws a third of an inning against the Dodgers in his big-league debut for the Marlins.
He is traded to San Diego in June in the Sheffield deal and ends up in Cooperstown.

The Giants and A’s are playing an exhibition game at Candlestick when an earthquake hits the Bay Area again.
This one is not nearly as severe as the one that hit during the 1988 World Series.

Albert Belle 1996 Bazooka Baseball Card

Teddy Bear Albert Belle hits photographer Tony Tomsic with a thrown baseball‚ then claims it was an accident. It wasn’t.
The league opens an investigation and Tomsic sues Belle. They eventually reach an out of court steelement.
Ironically, the incident comes a day after four teens are sentenced to community service for egging Belle’s house the previous October.

Jack Morris sets a record with his 13th consecutive Opening Day start. He throws a CG for Toronto and beats the Tigers‚ 4 – 2.
He goes 21-6 for the Jays. He draws the OpeningDay start again in 1993.

The Orioles play their first game in Oriole Park at Camden Yards in front of a crowd of 44,568.
Baltimore beats Cleveland 2-0, behind the five-hit pitching of Rick Sutcliffe.

In 1991‚ Innis became the only pitcher in history to appear in at least 60 games with neither a win nor a save.

Mark Leiter throws 9 shutout innings for the Giants but he is matched by Kevin Brown and Rob Nen, who combine to throw 10 shutout innings.

They would win their next game and finish the year at 73-89.

He will never pitch again, but the Padres will keep re-signing him year after year so that he receives proper medical coverage.

Larry Walker 1999 Fleer Flair baseball card

He returns to the lineup on April 15th and hits .379 to win the batting crown again.

The Padres place Randy Myers on the DL with a rotator cuff strainn. The injury costs him all of 1999. He pitches in one minor league game in 2001 and his career is over.

In his first game with the Angels after signing an $80 million free agent deal, Mo Vaughn injures his ankle while chasing a foul ball. 

The injury keeps him out of the lineup until April 22, but he still hits 33 homers and drives in 108.
