Happy 1990s Birthday to Dennis Rasmussen who played baseball and basketball at Creighton and won 91 games over 12 seasons between 1983 and 1995 and later became a minor league pitching coach.

Happy 1990s Birthday to Brian Dubois, who pitched for the Tigers in 1989 and 1990.

Happy 1990s Birthday to Angelo Encarnacion, who spent parts of three years in the bigs with the Pirates and Angels.

Happy 1990s Birthday to Steve Dunn, who appeared in 19 games for the Twins in 1994 and 1995. He collected a total of eight hits, five of which were doubles.

Happy 1990s Birthday to Rico Brogna, who made his debut with the Tigers in 1992 and spent parts of nine seasons in the bigs with five teams, primarily the Mets and Phillies.

Jack Morris abandons his comeback attemp with the Reds and announces his retirement.

Cardinals teammates Todd Worrell and Pedro Guerrero throw hands in the home clubhouse after Guerrero brings Sammy Sosa into the Cards locker room.
Worrell objected and the two come to blows. Both apologized and St. Louis skipper Joe Torre bans opposing players from the Cards clubhouse going forward.

In his first big-league start, Seattle’s Brett Hinchcliffe hits Todd Greene with a pitch after surrendering a homer to Troy Glaus.
Greene charges the mound and the benches clear. Both Greene and Hinchcliffe earn three-game suspensions.
