Happy 1990s Birthday to Kevin Blankenship, who pitched in eight games for the Cubs and Braves between 1988 and 1990. He earned one win.

Happy 1990s Birthday to Lou Frazier, who spent parts of five seasons in the bigs and later became a minor-league coach in multiple organizations.
He hit .286 as a rookie with Montreal in 1993.

Happy 1990s Birthday to Tim Pugh, who won 25 games for the Reds, Royals, and Tigers from 1992 through 1997.

Happy 1990s Birthday to Dan Carlson, who pitched in 23 games for the Giants, Devil Rays, and Diamondbacks from 1996 through 1999. He coached in the minor leagues for 20 years after his playing career was over.

Michael Jordan takes batting practice at Comiskey Park and impresses White Sox brass. He eventually earns an invitation to Spring Training and spends the year in Double-A.

The Yomiura Giants (Japan Central) purchase Jeff Manto from the Orioles. He plays 10 games in Japan and returns to the U.S. later in the summer.
