Players include Cal Ripken, Jr., Sammy Sosa, Steve Finley, Brady Anderson, Barry Bonds, Mike Piazza, Hideo Nomo, Gary Sheffield, Alex Rodriguez, and Shane Reynolds. Anderson homers for the U.S.

The Cubs sell the contract of Marvell Wynne to the Hanshin Tigers of the Japanese Central League.

The Twins announce they will not pick up their $2.6 million option on catcher Brian Harper, their best hitter in 1993.
Harper signs with the Brewers and bats .291 in 64 games in 1994.

The Blue Jays announce they will not exercise their option on Paul Molitor, who will be entering his age-39 season in 1996.
He signs with the Twins and bats .341 in 161 games.

He wins 187 games over two-plus seasons. It is his last managerial job.

Cleveland hires hitting coach Charlie Manuel as their new manager.
He wins 220 games in two-plus seasons before moving on to the Phillies and winning a pennant.
